Professor Hostetler’s main research and teaching interests are in strategy, decision-making, leadership, high performance teams, innovation and change management. He has taught classes in the MBA program, Executive MBA program and the Cornell/Queen’s MBA program. He is the author of four on-line courses in strategic thinking, scenario planning, leadership and team effectiveness, for eCornell, Cornell’s distance learning subsidiary.

He is also involved in the development of custom executive programs at the Johnson School, and has designed programs for a variety of international companies including Siemens, Citigroup, the Oxford University Press, Areva, Sara Lee, Johnson & Johnson, Bausch and Lomb, GlaxoSmithKlein, Hyundai, United Technologies, the Asian Development Bank, LIG, Plansee, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Samsung, Victaulic, G4S, the Americana Group and the Schwan Food Co .

As an associate dean at Johnson 1992-2003, Hostetler oversaw all public and custom executive programs. In addition, he oversaw the launch of Johnson’s Executive MBA program and served on the committee that developed the Cornell/Queen’s MBA Program.

Prior to joining Cornell University, Hostetler was assistant dean for executive education at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. His prior experiences also include positions with St. Mary’s Medical Center, the University of Tennessee, and the governor of Kentucky. Hostetler is active in the development of global executive education through the University Consortium for Executive Education (UNICON) and the International Consortium for Executive Development Research (ICEDR). He is an emeritus trustee of UNICON.

Dr. Sheikh has over 24 years of management consulting (Deloitte Consulting, USA), strategy formulation, change management, international program/project management, teaching, and business transformation experience in the public as well as private sector. Dr. Sheikh has led several business transformations, global projects, and change management initiatives in various countries including the United States, UK, Canada, Mexico, UAE, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.

His research interests focus on national culture, strategy, leadership, change management, and project management. Dr. Sheikh has published case studies and presented papers at international peer-reviewed conferences. He is a dynamic public speaker and has been given awards like “Innovative Vision & Dynamic Leadership” by Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft and Intel.

GBS Executive Education encourage experienced professionals with demonstrated business expertise and leadership potential to benefit from our globally renowned faculty. Each Executive Education program has its own admissions requirements. In general, you must have above 8 years of work experience. Although there are no formal education requirements, admissions is a selective process based on professional achievement and organizational responsibility.

To apply, you may be nominated and sponsored by your current employer or apply as an entrepreneur. The application and all required documents must be received to complete and prepare the application for review by the Admissions Committee. We request applications at least two weeks in advance of the program start date.

If you are submitting your application online, we will acknowledge your submission promptly via email upon receipt. Send the application to the address mentioned on the form. Mailed applications are processed and acknowledged promptly upon receipt via email. Once your application is approved by the Admission Committee, you will be notified via email about admissions decision.

The program fee covers tuition, books, case materials, and meals during the program timing.

After admission notification, we will send you an invoice via email. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date. If admission is within 30 days prior to the start of the program, payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. We accept payment by company check, bank wire transfer, or credit card (American Express, MasterCard, and Visa).


If you need to cancel or defer participation, you must submit your request in writing more than 15 days prior to the program start date to receive a full refund. On cancellation of a confirmed seat up to ten working days before the start of the program will attract a processing and documentation charge of SAR 5,000/-. Participants cancelling within this ten days period will be charged 50% of the program fee as cancellation charges.
